Hi. I’m a straight guy, of the majority ethnic group and religion in Bangladesh. Although I occupy a privileged position in society and LGBT issues don’t affect me, I’m strongly in favour of removing all restrictions and social intimidation from the LGBT community in Bangladesh and around the world. All of us humans, no matter which group we belong to, want strong minority rights and constitutional protections in countries where our ethnicity/religion/culture is a minority, but if we make up a majority we are reluctant to grant rights to minorities. I can’t stand the hypocrisy. Repeal all laws against all minority groups including the LGBT community. Let everyone live in peace and harmony without feeling insecure or facing intimidation because of who they are.
