I am 28 years old. I do fall into the minority category according to the accepted sexual identity in our society. Growing up as a minority shaped my whole perspective from early childhood. And no matter how encouraged I feel about my differences, how empowered I am, at the end of the day the thought of being different, isolates me from my surroundings. This thought of never being able to be one of “Them” held me back almost two-thirds of my life, and I tried to interpret this idea through my artwork.
